What is Free Geek Toronto’s Return Policy?
The Free Geek Toronto’s return policy applies to items not sold “as-is”. These items cannot be exchanged or returned for any reason.
Return Policy: To return an item, you must present your receipt at the time of return. The item must be in the same condition as when it was sold and have the original stickers attached. All returns are for store credit only. In-store credit never expires. We do not offer cash refunds for any reason. We cannot provide duplicate copies of store credits.
7-Day Exchange: Refurbished computers are returnable for a period of 7 calendar days from the date of purchase for in-store credit.
Systems returned for reasons other than hardware faults are subject to a 15% restocking fee.
If an item is purchased online but has not been picked up or shipped, our regular return policy applies including the 15% restocking fee.
If an item has been shipped, you will be responsible for paying for your own shipping costs for returning/exchanging your item. Shipping costs are non-refundable.
Depending on where you live, the time it may take for your exchanged product to reach you may vary.
If you are shipping an item over $75, you should consider using a trackable shipping service or purchasing shipping insurance. We don’t guarantee that we will receive your returned item.
Do you offer repair/upgrade services?
No, Free Geek Toronto does not currently offer any repair services.
How long does the battery last?
Unless otherwise stated at the time of purchase, batteries have been tested to last at least 2 hours.
Can I change from Linux Mint to another operating system (OS)?
Yes, it’s your computer to do what you want with but changing the OS will void Free Geek Toronto’s 90-day limited warranty. We also won’t be able to provide technical support. Be sure to check that the computer meets the minimum technical requirements and follow the software licensing requirements for any software you install.

Can I get technical support?
Free Geek Toronto does not have an official technical support department. If you require help, please call and, if necessary, we can schedule an appointment. If it is outside the warranty period, repairs might not be possible
Do you buy people’s old technology? Do you do trade-ins?
No, Free Geek Toronto relies solely on donations of unwanted technology and does not purchase people’s old tech. We also don’t do trade-ins as there is a cost associated with refurbishing/testing the technology we receive.
