We hold Orientation sessions for new volunteers every Saturday at noon. You don’t need an appointment—just show up at 51 Vine Avenue!

Adoption Program: 24 hours of service
Your volunteer service will usually include learning to evaluate incoming hardware donations, disassemble and clean donated computers, and test components for reuse, as well as general volunteer duties like cleaning or data entry.

Build Program: We teach you to build your own computer!
Build five computers for us, then build a sixth one and take it home! You will be required to attend three class sessions. Each class lasts three hours. After that, you should be able to work on your own.

Core Volunteer: Do everything!
We also have lots of other volunteers, who we call Core volunteers, who do many things for us:
- facilities upkeep
- data entry and bookkeeping
- information booth and presentations at events
- grant applications
- thrift store and electronic sales
- maintain our internal IT network and Web site
- teach
We are a volunteer-run organization, and we expect all volunteers to participate in one or more of our Workgroups.
High school students doing community service hours are welcome. Volunteers under 16 must be accompanied by an adult for insurance reasons.
